Jason Sullivan, (WF2009), executive director of Fells Point Main Street receives $23,000 for renovations...

Fells Point Main Street has been awarded $23,000 from the Baltimore Heritage Area’s small capital grants program. These funds will be used to renovate the old Fells Point comfort station on Aliceanna Street; with the plan that Fells Point Main Street will occupy the second floor as their new offices once completed. Work is scheduled to begin in summer 2009. FPMS is also seeking Community Legacy funds toward this project as well. Mayor Dixon presented the 13 grantees with ceremonial checks at a press conference at the Star Spangled Banner House on February 7th.

Sullivan remarked "This grant is an excellent opportunity for our organization. As a Main Street organization, this helps further our commitment in the area of historic preservation and the protection of historic Fells Point buildings. It is also a unique opportunity for Fells Point Main Street to locate our office in the heart of the business district without taking away commercial space."
