Description:

MMP is one of the two top state mentoring partnerships in the country, with a very strong track record of accomplishments (e.g., producing 47,100 mentoring matches against the goal of 84,000 in just 4 years). It has $1 million budget, a very strong staff of 11 and an extremely well-connected board comprised principally of business leaders from Baltimore (e.g. head of Johns Hopkins Health Systems, etc.) The current executive has been there 11 years and is leaving at her own initiative.

MMP’s board of directors seeks a leader with vision, vigor and action for the position of executive director. Successful candidates should have “big picture” strategic thinking with the administrative skills of a results-oriented manager. The position requires a leader who has a track record of mobilizing communities and working in partnership with numerous key stakeholders including board members, staff, public officials, corporate executives and funders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree preferred.
• An established record of experience with seven years in a leadership/management capacity including oversight of the budget process.
• Proven ability to work effectively with a board of directors and volunteer committees.
• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills including proficiency in public speaking and writing.
• Skilled in organizational needs assessment and consultation.
• Demonstrated ability in working with diverse leaders and advocates to secure financial and in-kind contributions.
• Proficiency in using a personal computer with experience operating word processing and database software; facility in using the internet.
