The Board of Directors of an established family philanthropy in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership and extend its impact in its areas of interest. The Executive Director will execute the day-to-day strategic work of the philanthropy and will be responsible for further developing and implementing its vision. This is a ¾ time (30 hours per week) position.

As the philanthropy’s primary staff, the ideal candidate will bring a strategic view of philanthropy focused on maximizing limited resources to affect and promote positive, sustainable and long-term outcomes. A self-directed individual who has experience growing, developing and managing small organizations is preferred. We seek an individual with integrity, loyalty and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

• A strong background and experience working for or with nonprofit organizations (grantmaking foundation preferred)
• 3-5 years management experience including supervisory responsibilities
• Knowledge of philanthropy and the process of grantmaking
• Familiarity with the issues and needs of the following:
1. youth during their middle school years
2. healthcare and the underserved
3. aging and elderly with dementia
• Ability to work independently as well support the interests of the Board
• Self-directed in setting and meeting deadlines and objectives
• Strategic and forward thinking in regards to planning, developing and advancing the mission and activities of the philanthropy
• Proficient in the following software: Word, Excel, and Access. Word Press experience desired.
• Excellent written communication skills, organizational skills and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Salary will be commensurate with experience and partial benefits offered.
